AOEM is made up of one distinct tax-exempt organization incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia under US law: Acts One Eight Ministries, Inc., which is recognized as a non-profit organization under Section 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code.

What Is AOEM?

ACTS ONE EIGHT MINISTRIES, INC (AOEM, INC) is a multifaceted Non-profit organization. AOEM produces social change via education and organization development, career preparation, and community development. AOEM offers places of prayer and serves as spiritual advisors and counselors to religious institutions. A large part of AOEM’s funding is through private donations.

What is our Vision?

The vision of AOEM is to promote and produce social change. We believe one of the roots of social change is education. This process begins in primary school, extends through high school and continues to technical, college and graduate levels of education. We have mandated to see education take place in homes, communities, states, countries and the world.

Within the next five years AEOM looks to build individual departments of Education, Organizational Development, Career Development, Community Development, and Spiritual and Human Affairs. This vision will have helped to create safer, more harmonious communities  by helping people to acquire the education, skills and resources necessary to build self-sufficient prosperous lives.

Where does AOEM get its name?

The name ACTS ONE EIGHT MINISTRIES, Inc. is based on the Scripture in Acts 1:8 where Christ commissions the Apostles to witness for Him in Jerusalem, in all of Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. The name spun from dialogue between AOEM’s founder and a Board Member after the Board was informed the organization’s first name choice for Internal Revenue Service (IRS) approval as a 501(c)3 was taken. Interestingly, the Board Member suggested ACTS ONE EIGHT. The suggestion resonated with our founder as he had been impressed to create a Non Profit that would Start Here, Go There, and End Up Everywhere… Hence, ACTS ONE EIGHT MINISTRIES, INC. was presented and accepted. This vision of Social Change has GLOBAL implications. The goal is to expand from Suffolk/Portsmouth, Virginia to Dallas, Atlanta, New York, Miami (and every major city in the United States); to London, Paris, and the major centers of Europe, on to Asia, Africa and the uttermost parts of the earth.
